Solar Stakeholders

Yesterday was the first meeting of a Solar Stakeholder Collaborative, a conference of various advocates which PECO initiated in response to our campaign. This first meeting showed how far jobs and justice still are from the conversation, but it’s clear direct action is pushing a new horizon for local green jobs!

Eileen Flanagan and Dana Robinson participated on behalf of EQAT, and Rabbi Julie Greenberg and Rev. Gregory Holston were there from POWER, along with 80 other participants ranging from city agencies to solar installers.

PECO’s strategy seemed to be to stay silent, listen, and minimize the company’s agency. The day turned out to be a good for deepening relationships with POWER and we agree we need to keep up and increase the pressure, or else this won’t lead to anything substantial.
